Viorel

Viorel is pure balfolk passion: dance music performed by two seasoned folk flandriens Hartwin Dhoore (diatonic accordion) and Jeroen Geerinck (acoustic guitar). As soloists they have toured all across Europe for many years and now they join forces in Viorel, a new stage in their musical journey.

Born from a close friendship and a shared drive to keep creating even during the challenging years of 2020 and 2021, their music breathes spontaneity and purity. With a brand new repertoire they seek a genuine connection with the dancers aiming, in their own words, for the core of balfolk.

Their debut album Flandriens features eleven original gentle yet energetic dance tunes created during co writing sessions in the spring of 2022. Acoustic and authentic in sound yet full of playful arrangements that make dancing feel effortless.
