Rokkende vrouwen

Rokkende Vrouwen is the duo of singer pianist Hilde Van Belle and singer violinist Lore Vancauwenberghe. Together they revive old Flemish and Dutch songs, dressing them in a fresh style sometimes enriched with subtle Scandinavian touches.

Expect danceable folk with unforgettable and dreamy melodies. Rokkende Vrouwen travel effortlessly through time and space: from the 13th century poet Hadewijch to the 19th century worker’s song De Weverkens. Every tune is given a contemporary folk version where tradition meets modernity.
